Worn, Washed, and Loved: Discover the Story Behind Our Japanese Indigo Kasuri Fabric Scraps
Share
When you run your fingers across vintage Japanese fabric, you're not just touching cotton—you’re brushing against time.
Our newly listed Japanese indigo kasuri fabric scraps set is more than a bundle of cloth. Each piece once lived in a home, passed through hands, and soaked up stories of daily life. These are remnants of real people’s lived experiences: worn, washed, and loved.
What Makes Kasuri Special?
Kasuri (絣) is a traditional Japanese weaving technique in which threads are resist-dyed before weaving to create intricate, softly blurred patterns. Combined with natural indigo dye (aizome), the result is a fabric that feels deeply rooted in Japan’s artisanal legacy.
A Sustainable Material for Boro and Sashiko

Why Vintage Matters
These aren’t synthetic replicas. They’re genuine pieces of Japan’s Showa-era past. Slight fraying, fading, or age marks are not flaws, but character—signs of a previous life that add depth to your new creations.
One Set Only
Just like the lives they came from, these pieces are unique. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
