Hanten jackets were traditionally worn as workwear or uniforms by craftsmen and merchant workers.
This one features minimalist kanji on the collar and back, adding a striking accent.
The indigo-dyed cotton is of excellent quality, and the future fading will bring out even more character.
Indigo pieces like this have become increasingly hard to find in recent years, and their rarity and value continue to grow.
Internationally, these are appreciated as fashion garments—similar to boro—under the names Hanten or Happi Coats.
As fashion becomes more individualistic, this piece is recommended for those tired of mass trends and conventional styles.

There are some discolorations and stains.
The fabric has areas where it has slipped.
The cuffs have been sewn inside to make them narrower. (It is likely reversible by removing the stitching.)
This is an old item, so if you are not familiar with such conditions, please refrain from ordering.
*We have washed it twice. It has a smell unique to antique items. Refunds or exchanges are not accepted in case of damage or odor returning after wearing or washing. Please order only if you understand this in advance.
