These are vintage wool trousers used by the U.S. Army in the 1950s. The inner slacks lining (slack lining) bears the stamp “55-T-26728-28,” and this pair was supplied to Japan’s postwar Police Reserve and early Self-Defense Forces.

After World War II, Japan relied on surplus U.S. military equipment to equip the newly formed forces for maintaining public order and national defense, and these trousers are considered one example of that supply.

The previous owner’s surname is hand-stitched inside, leaving clear traces of actual use. The missing belt loops and the intentionally cut mil-spec markings on the slacks are historical features that add character.
Additionally, the cuffs have been double-stitched as a vintage-era remake, enhancing the individuality and wearable appeal of this pair.
