After World War II, Japan's newly formed defense forces were equipped with surplus U.S. military gear. These wool trousers were part of that supply chain — worn by someone whose name is still hand-stitched inside. The belt loops are gone, the mil-spec markings deliberately cut, and the cuffs double-turned in a period remake. None of this is damage. All of it is history.

The inner lining is stamped "55-T-26728-28." That number places this pair in the mid-1950s. Pieces with this level of documented provenance — connecting U.S. manufacture to Japanese postwar military use — are rare. They don't circulate often, and when they do, they don't last.
