Nittsu Shoji — a Japanese trading company — had its workers wear this in the 1970s. It was not made to be collected. It was made to be worn, repeatedly, until it wasn't. That it survived is the point. The OD color, the boxy cut, the weight of a fabric that was never meant to be fashionable: all of it reads differently now than it did then. Corporate workwear from Showa-era Japan occupies an increasingly specific place in the global vintage market, precisely because it was never exported, never replicated, and never designed with any audience beyond its original wearer in mind.

This jacket layers naturally. It doesn't announce itself. That restraint is exactly what makes it work in a contemporary wardrobe.

Washed twice in-house. Retains a faint old-clothing scent. As this is a vintage item, please refrain from purchasing if you are not comfortable with signs of age. Returns or exchanges due to damage or odor after further washing or wearing cannot be accepted.
