Monpe are traditional Japanese rural work trousers, worn by farmers and craftspeople throughout the Showa era. This piece features hand-stitched construction and an indigo-dyed kasuri (ikat) pattern — a textile technique in which threads are resist-dyed before weaving to create characteristic blurred geometric motifs. A rare example of everyday Japanese folk textile heritage, and an ideal candidate for upcycling or textile art projects.
