Kuroda Bushi is one of Japan's three great folk songs — a bold, celebratory drinking song passed down through the Kuroda clan of Fukuoka. Its lyrics are printed across the entire lining of this haori. Every time you move, every time you take it off, the words appear. This is the soul of this jacket.

A haori is a traditional Japanese outer jacket, worn open over anything — a t-shirt, a hoodie, a shirt. No buttons, no structure, no effort. Just layer it on and the outfit is done. The outer fabric is a deep, warm brown in a woven geometric pattern that shifts with the light. Simple from a distance, complex up close. The craftsmanship of Showa-era tailoring is still alive in the hand of this fabric. And then the lining. The Kuroda Bushi lyrics, printed on white ground with cherry blossom motifs. This is what makes this jacket one of a kind.
