■Product Details■

  • Era: Late Showa period

  • Material: Believed to be a blended weave (please judge from the photos, as it cannot be confirmed definitively).

This is a very rare green men's haori, believed to have been made in the late Showa period.

The fabric has a firm, slightly stiff texture, and the surface features a refined textile design based on a deep green tone.

What stands out most is the lining (haura), which depicts Japanese houses, natural landscapes, and possibly a courier or traveler.

It portrays scenes of Japan like a single painting, and the beauty glimpsed when the haori is taken off or sways in the wind truly embodies the spirit of "iki" (refined elegance).

Since the Edo period, haura (linings) have been regarded as a hidden space to express the owner’s sense of beauty and playfulness.

Precisely because it is not visible from the outside, lavish dyeing and bold patterns were used, and the haori lining came to be seen as an important element to express individuality, not just a backing.

In recent years, the style of wearing haori as a jacket in a mix of Japanese and Western fashion has gained attention both in Japan and abroad. Casual coordinates pairing them with T-shirts and jeans are also highly appreciated overseas.

With the texture unique to vintage and deep detailing, this haori is highly attractive both as a fashion item and as an art piece.
