This hand-selected set contains five Japanese vintage cotton fabric scraps: three striped pieces, one indigo kasuri piece, and one solid-coloured piece. Kasuri is a traditional Japanese ikat weave, recognised by its softly blurred pattern created before the threads are woven. Together, the pieces offer a useful balance of line, colour, texture, and quiet indigo depth.

These are not anonymous craft-store remnants. Each fragment comes from an older Japanese textile and carries the irregular shape, softness, and surface character that make vintage cloth so satisfying to work with. The set is small enough to begin a project immediately, yet varied enough to become the first layer of something personal.

Use the pieces for patchwork, quilting, sashiko, visible mending, boro-inspired textile work, small accessories, or textile art. They are especially suited to slow stitching, where a few modest fragments can become a useful object with a longer life than mass-produced craft material.

Condition

There is some fabric slippage. The edges are not sewn and may come undone, and the shapes are irregular. Some colour remains in the fabric and dye may run when washed, so please wash separately.

We have washed the pieces twice. They retain a characteristic antique-textile scent. The set will be shipped compressed, so wrinkles may occur. Damage or odour returning due to washing or wearing after purchase is not eligible for a refund or exchange. Please order only if you understand and appreciate the nature of vintage fabric.
