This band collar shirt jacket features the soft texture of cotton and the rich, dark hue of traditional Japanese indigo dye.
Not a mass-produced item, this piece appears to be handmade with great care—likely by someone highly skilled in dressmaking. (We sourced three nearly identical shirts together, suggesting they were made in a small batch.)

The silhouette follows a style often seen in the Taisho to early Showa eras: a simple band-collar shirt, enhanced with practical patch pockets on both sides near the hem—effectively turning it into a shirt jacket. (Please note: it is shirt-weight, not a heavy jacket.)

One charming detail is the hand-stitched "M" at the neckline—a small but delightful touch.

Made from breathable cotton, the piece offers a cool and comfortable feel against the skin.
The deep, almost black shade of indigo gives it a strong presence, and with time, the color will gradually evolve, adding further character through wear and age.

It works well as a standalone shirt or layered as a light jacket. The clean band collar pairs easily with both T-shirts and dresses, making it an excellent piece for in-between seasons or for indoor cooling protection.

This item is an unused deadstock find that has been one-washed by us to remove storage residue and soften the fabric.
