A quilted household textile, carefully opened into a new beginning.

This Japanese vintage cotton fabric dates from the Early Showa period, approximately the 1920s to 1930s. It was carefully deconstructed from an old quilted futon cover that had lived through decades of everyday life in Japan.

Once the original bedding had served its purpose, the household took it apart by hand and preserved the fabric rather than discarding it. The quilting, traces of cotton wadding, softened surface, and stitching marks remain as evidence of that former life. This is not factory-made “vintage effect”; its character was created through use, care, repair, and time.

Subtle fading, worn areas, stains, tears, and uneven textures give the cloth a presence that cannot be reproduced through mass production. Its generous 167 × 177 cm size offers real freedom for a future maker.

Use it for a garment remake, a jacket or workwear detail, patchwork, sashiko, boro-inspired repair, framed textile art, interior panels, bags, or other creative work. Japanese vintage textiles with this kind of irreplaceable surface are increasingly sought after by overseas textile artists, designers, and slow-fashion makers.

This textile has been washed twice by our shop and retains a characteristic vintage scent. Please purchase only if you understand the nature of old textiles. Refunds or exchanges will not be accepted due to odor, fabric damage, or changes caused by washing or use after purchase.

The fabric will be shipped compressed, so wrinkles may occur. Small accessories used for photography are not included.
