A large-scale cotton plaid in black, yellow, pink, grey, and olive, woven for a household somewhere in early-to-mid Showa-era Japan, used for years on a family’s bedding, then carefully unstitched and preserved as a single length of fabric. No label. No record. What remains is the evidence of a life lived carefully.
