This is a cotton Noragi jacket tailored in Japan during the early to mid Showa period.

The outer fabric features striped cotton textile in tones of navy and maroon, while the interior is lined with a plain indigo-dyed cotton fabric.

The true highlight of this piece lies in its indigo plain lining.
Although it is not designed as a reversible garment, the depth and quiet strength of the indigo fabric is so striking that it remains visually complete even when worn inside-out.

It is difficult to believe that such a calm, profound color was originally intended to remain hidden as lining fabric.

The garment is hand-sewn, and its construction naturally conveys that it was born from everyday life rather than industrial production.
Its stitches and structure speak of practicality, necessity, and lived experience.
