Across it, white cross kasuri ikat patterns repeat with quiet precision.

Red in a cross kasuri is rare.
Sometime in the mid-Showa era, a woman in a farmhouse somewhere in Japan
chose this cloth, threaded her needle, and made this jacket by hand.
