This is a one-of-a-kind vintage Noragi jacket from mid-Showa era Japan.

Crafted from deep indigo-dyed cotton featuring traditional kasuri (ikat) patterns, it was originally worn as workwear by farmers and rural workers. The lining is made from authentic tenugui cloth of the time, adding a personal and nostalgic touch to the garment—each wear feels like stepping into a piece of Japan’s living history.

Noragi was once the everyday attire in Japan’s countryside. Each region developed its own handmade techniques, reflecting the wisdom and creativity of daily life. Particularly, indigo dyeing and kasuri weaving were cherished for their durability and insect-repellent properties.
