Which side will you wear today? That's entirely up to you.
A gradient stripe on one side. A deep, quiet crimson red on the other.
This noragi, born in a rural village in Tohoku during the mid-Showa era,
arrives today with two faces — and a story that belongs to whoever holds it next.

■ About This Piece
Noragi was never designed to be reversible.
The outer fabric is a gradient cotton stripe — subtle shifts in tone running vertically through the weave.
The inner fabric is a deep crimson red, quiet and strong.
This two-sided nature was not engineered.
It came from a maker who used what was available, and used it fully.
But today, wearing this as fashion, the ability to choose which side faces the world
becomes something entirely your own.

■ Noragi as Mingei — Folk Craft
Noragi was not born as fashion.
It was born in the fields, the mountains, alongside the land —
a mingei, a Japanese folk object, made to protect the body at work.
Its design was not driven by aesthetics.
It was driven by necessity, available materials,
and the accumulated decisions of the person who made it.
That is why no two are alike.
That is why they do not age out of relevance.

■ Why the World Is Looking for This
Global demand for Japan vintage has grown steadily and significantly
over the past decade — and noragi sits at the center of it.
Collectors and buyers across Europe and the United States
are drawn to noragi for everything fast fashion is not:
one of a kind, handmade, rooted in land and labor, built to last.
A noragi with two distinct faces — stripe and crimson red —
is not something the market produces in quantity.
When it appears, it does not stay long.

■ For the Next Ten Years
When you hold this, you are not buying the past.
You are choosing a piece of craft to carry forward —
into the next ten, twenty years of your life.
Wear it as a haori. Wear it as a jacket.
Stripe days. Red days.
The next chapter of this noragi is yours to write.
