A vintage Japanese tenugui from the 1980s, originally produced as a novelty item for a Japanese alcohol and groceries store. The design features bold kanji characters on a folding fan motif — a classic example of Showa-era commercial textile culture.

Tenugui are thin cotton cloths that have been part of Japanese daily life for centuries. This piece carries the energy of a local Showa-era shop — the kind of place that no longer exists. Display it as textile art, use it as a hand towel, or incorporate it into a handmade project.

Vintage used. Some staining present. Edges are cut and not sewn — they will fray over time. This is an old item; please refrain from ordering if you are not comfortable with vintage characteristics.

Washed twice by us. A scent characteristic of old items may remain. Damage or odor returning after washing or use is not eligible for refund or exchange. Please order only if you fully understand and accept these conditions.
