A small length of Japanese textile history, ready to become a personal accent.
This vintage Japanese cotton cord dates from the Mid-Showa period. It originally belonged to a child's kimono and was made by repurposing a tenugui, a traditional Japanese cotton hand towel. The simple, rustic weave has been preserved, giving the piece a tactile character that modern accessories cannot reproduce.
At approximately 83.5 cm long, it can be worn around the neck like a narrow scarf or textile necklace. Pair it with a simple shirt, T-shirt, jacket, or workwear-inspired outfit to add a quiet retro detail without looking costume-like.
Nothing has been added or altered. This is a one-of-a-kind textile accessory in its original condition, carrying the history of a child's garment and the practical culture of Japanese cloth reuse into contemporary slow fashion.
Japanese vintage textiles are increasingly appreciated worldwide by collectors, designers, and makers who value honest materials and objects with a traceable everyday history. Once sold, this piece will not be available again.
