Turn it inside out and it becomes a different jacket entirely. The exterior is striped cotton — classic noragi workwear. The interior lining is a deep maroon solid. The collar is indigo-dyed. Three fabrics, one garment, made by someone who used what was available and made it work.

Mid-Showa era (1950s–60s). The cotton has the softness that only comes from decades of actual use. Not washed-in softness. Lived-in softness. The kind that cannot be manufactured.

In the global Japan vintage market, noragi with this kind of multi-fabric construction — striped body, contrasting lining, indigo collar — are increasingly sought after. The inside-out styling possibility makes this piece especially versatile for those who know how to use it. One of a kind. Once it sells, it's gone.
