■Product Details■

This is a vintage indigo-dyed striped cotton kimono (naga-gi) made in Japan during the early to mid Showa period.

The fabric is made of sturdy cotton with a rustic yet stylish texture, featuring beautifully dyed indigo stripes.

While traditionally worn as part of Japanese clothing, it can also be styled as a robe or light overcoat—similar to how it is appreciated and worn overseas. It blends naturally with modern fashion.

The textile is outstanding and ideal as a remake material. It can be repurposed into coats or jackets, or upcycled into bags, cushion covers, and other items.

This type of vintage Japanese kimono is gaining increasing recognition and demand abroad, and is being reevaluated as a unique and valuable vintage item.

■Condition■

The collar stitching is either loose or partially missing, and the garment appears to have been previously shortened at the waist, leaving visible fold creases. The sleeve sections show signs of deterioration and damage, and various areas throughout the piece exhibit fraying, thread loss, and general wear. There is noticeable fading on the back, and due to long-term storage, the item has the characteristic scent of vintage textiles.

We have washed the garment twice, but please understand that residual odor or additional damage may become more apparent after further washing or wearing. These qualities are inherent to vintage items and are not grounds for return or exchange. If you are unfamiliar with or sensitive to such characteristics, we kindly ask that you refrain from placing an order.
