A noragi jacket built from striped cotton — body and collar in different fabrics, as was common when the maker used what was at hand. The collar is indigo-dyed solid, the body a fine stripe. The contrast is not decorative. It is honest.

Early to mid-Showa era (1930s–1950s). Someone made this to work in. To move in. The cotton has softened with decades of use into a texture that cannot be manufactured — only lived into.

In the global Japan vintage market, noragi with mixed-fabric construction are increasingly recognized for exactly this quality: the evidence of a maker's judgment, not a designer's brief. One of a kind. Once it sells, it's gone.
