This is a cotton Noragi workwear jacket made in Japan during the mid Showa period.

The fabric features Yukinko Kasuri, a highly regarded pattern among traditional Japanese vintage textiles. In addition, a different cross-like kasuri pattern has been used on part of the collar, creating a crazy patchwork-style composition using multiple kasuri fabrics.

Originally made as practical agricultural workwear, this piece stands out for its tasteful combination of different kasuri textiles, giving it a unique visual character.

The lining includes vintage tenugui cotton cloth, reflecting the practical ingenuity and everyday clothing culture of the time.

The aged cotton fabric has developed a beautiful vintage texture over decades, making it an excellent example of Japanese vintage workwear.

This piece can be appreciated as a collector’s item, worn as a light jacket, or used as material for handmade or remade projects.

Condition

There are signs of age and use including damage, stains, small tears, and missing stitches.

The stitching under the arm has loosened, resulting in a small hole.

Please refrain from purchasing if you are not comfortable with vintage or antique garments.

This item has been washed twice by us. However, some vintage odor may remain, which is common for old textiles.
