This pair of Japanese vintage wool trousers is believed to have been tailored in the transitional period between the 1940s and 1950s. Rather than being factory-produced, it is assumed to be a one-off piece crafted by a civilian tailor.

The trousers feature a wool body and a classic button-fly front. The pocket lining is made of a modern dotted fabric, which was likely replaced in later years rather than being original to the garment.

Several machine-stitched repairs can be seen throughout, telling the story of a garment that was mended and worn over a long span of time.
