This is a Nagoya obi made of silk, crafted in Japan during the Showa era.

The design features a striking combination of floral motifs and a traditional checkered (ichimatsu) pattern. The structured geometry of the checkered pattern is softened by the gentle rhythm of floral elements, creating a well-balanced and visually engaging composition.

Made from silk, the fabric is supple and easy to tie.
Its surface subtly changes expression depending on the light, adding quiet depth and nuance to an outfit.

While characteristic of Showa-era design, the pattern is not overly decorative. It pairs well with solid-colored or subtly patterned kimono, serving as an accent without overpowering the overall look.
